‘Reporting verb’ হিসেবে ‘said’ এবং তারপরে Alas! থাকায় এগুলোর পরিবর্তে Indirect speech এ ‘exclaimed with sorrow’ বসাতে হবে ও conjunction হিসেবে ‘that’ ব্যবহার হবে। অতঃপর Subject (he) এবং tense ও person অনুযায়ী ‘to be’ verb (was) + বাকি অংশ।

Interrogative WH sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে reporting verb এর subject + said/told + object + WH word (what) + reported speech এর subject + verb + বাকি অংশ। উল্লেখ্য, present tense - past tense এ রূপান্তরিত হবে অর্থাৎ (want পরিবর্তিত হয় wanted)।

Shouted at - চিত্কার করা, গলাবাজি করা, চিল্লান, চেঁচান, খেঁক করা।

এখানে 'Shout' এর পরে in, with, on, এবং at বসানো হয়েছে। কিন্তু ‘shout’ এরপর apporpriate preposition হিসেবে ‘at’ ব্যবহৃত হবে।
