গঠন: Had + subject + past participle… , subject + could have + past participle…

বাক্যটি বোঝাচ্ছে: "যদি তুমি সময়মতো থাকতে, তাহলে তুমি তথ্যটি পেতে।" (কিন্তু আসলে পেতে পারোনি)।

খ) If you had been there on time, you could have the information.

ভুল কারণ: conditional বাক্যে could have + V3 লাগতে হবে, শুধু could have নয়।

গ) If you had been there on time, you might get the information.

ভুল কারণ: এখানে tense গড়মড় হয়েছে। Past unreal conditional-এ future form (might get) ব্যবহার ঠিক নয়।

ঘ) Had been you there, you could have got the information.

ভুল কারণ: inversion-এর ক্ষেত্রে subject (you) আগে আসবে — সঠিক হবে Had you been there…। এখানে word order ভুল।
 

- কোনও বস্তু বা পৃষ্ঠের একটি পাশ থেকে অন্য পাশে কিছু থাকা বা চলাচল করার অর্থ বোঝাতে "Across" ব্যবহৃত হয়।

উদাহরণস্বরূপ,
- The bridge crosses across the river.
- The bird flew across the sky.
- The dog ran across the road.
- There is a coffee shop across the street.

কোন কিছুর গতিপথ নিচের দিকে হলে verb এর পরে adverb হিসেবে down ব্যবহৃত হয়। এখানে, Snow এর গতিপথ নিচের দিকে হওয়ায় down ব্যবহৃত হবে।

- আমি তাকে দশ বছর যাবৎ চিনি- এই বাক্যটি present perfect tense এ আছে।
- অতীতে সংঘটিত হয়ে কোনো কাজ কাজ বর্তমান সময়ে চলে এরূপ বুঝালে Verb এর Present Perfect Tense হয়।
- Structure: Subject + have/has + verb(past participle) + Extension.
- বাক্যটির সঠিক ইংরেজি অনুবাদ হবে- I have known him for ten years.
